They are arranging a tour with magical rock
In February this year Emma Jonsson and Elin Andersson arranged the first wizard rock show in Åre. After this they got in touch with Paul DeGeorge from Harry and the Potters, who are famous for being the founders of wizard rock.
August 4th they come to Östersund to play.
"It began with [the wizard rock show] Lumos we had in Åre. An American girl played there and she talked with Paul. He said that they wanted to come and play a show in Sweden, and then she said that she knew two girls who could arrange it, and he got our email addresses. First we thought that it would be just a little event but then we decided that it should become a whole tour in Scandinavia" Elin Andersson says.
The tour will start in Östersund and then goes to Bäsna, Oslo, Copenhagen, Växjo and Stockholm.
"Eventually there will also be a show in Gothenburg but there have been some difficulties with it" Elin says.
The girls will be the drivers, and they'll transport the band to the cities they have shows in.
"At first it felt almost surreal but now we've gotten used to the idea", says Elin.
"We're going to stay over at the fans' homes in the places they play in. There have been no problems when we asked if Harry and the Potters could sleep overnight at their houses" says Elin, laughing.
Harry and the Potters is a band from the USA, and consists of brothers Paul and Joe DeGeorge. They are the first band in wizard rock, a genre of music which emerged through the successful books about the young wizard Harry Potter.
"They have played about 500 shows and in some shows they've had over 10 000 people in the audience. We thought that we would never see them play live if we didn't travel to the USA" says Emma Jonsson.
Two Swedish wizard rock bands will play with Harry and the Potters: The Swedish Shortsnouts and Solitary Snape. Both bands played at Lumos i Åre, which was a night that Emma and Elin describe as a success.
"We didn't have a single mishap during the night" says Emma.
And they expect as much from the start of this tour, too.
"We think that it's going to be a total success! It's not just an evening for geeks, because they are an awesome live band. They are born entertainers" says Elin.
