Hey, what's up with you guys? This is the second episode of WrockWay Podcast. I'm pretty busy with releasing these episodes as you can see. What can I say, I love doing this.
First of all, I want to thank you all for sending your comments and ideas and some links to be added to the WrockWay website link section. It's getting bigger and bigger all the time. So thank you for your kind response towards the site and this podcast. And I hope you continue to enjoy the site and you enjoy this episode too.
So I'm gonna comment on some of these songs without listening to them beforehand. So here's one song that I've never heard before, and now I'm gonna listen to it and then I'm gonna comment on it right away. This song is called "Giant Squid Fangirl"...and that sounds good. And it's by Pygmy Puff Invasion.
----
Okay, that was...sorry, I was just laughing all the time, when I listened to this, and I forgot the name of the song. It was um, "Giant Squid Fangirl" by Pygmy Puff Invasion...sorry. So, that was pretty weird but it was funny. Okay, now I have to calm down and check out the next song.
The next song is by a band that I feel resembles my own music in many ways. Except that they play guitar well, which I don't, play at all actually yet, maybe in the future. So let's hear a song from Kwikspell, and it's the band whose name starts with a 'k', not 'q', coz there are two bands, but this is the one whose name starts with a 'k'. So this song is "Save Ginny Weasley" cover, the original song of course by Harry and the Potters. So here is "Save Ginny Weasley" by Kwikspell.
---
That was "Save Ginny Weasley" cover by Kwikspell. And there are tons of "Save Ginny Weasley" covers. I'm sure I haven't heard all of them. But I like this cover because it kind of takes the song so far away from the original. It gives it this mellow feel, and it reminds me of my own cover of "Potterwatch", originally by The Basilisk In Your Pasta. And I'm gonna play that song now, so here is "Potterwatch" cover by Room of whateva.
---
So that "Potterwatch" by Room of whateva. And you can find links in the show notes to the original songs by The Basilisk In Your Pasta and Harry and the Potters, in case you haven't heard them. You've probably heard at least "Save Ginny Weasley". And about cover songs in general, you know, the original songs are of course awesome because they inspire such covers. But I really like when people use their creativity when doing covers, so they bring something new to the song but still, you know, show respect to it. So if you know any great cover songs, let me know about them, and maybe I get to play them in this podcast in the future.
So let's get to the next song. It's by Pygmy Puff Invasion and it's called "Werewolf Love".
---
So this was "Werewolf Love" by Pygmy Puff Invasion. And it was a song about Remus and Sirius, and it just made me want to do a cover of this song. Her voice was beautiful. Actually, I didn't know that there were so many slash songs out there. And most of those I know are about Remus and Sirius. And yeah, I'm probably gonna make more Remus/Sirius songs too, maybe a cover of this song.
The next song is by quite a new band called Lily & James. And they just released four songs for free download from their upcoming album. And they are also making a music video for one of their songs. So this is "Hagrid is My Name" by Lily & James.
---
Okay, I think I just found my favourite song about Hagrid. This was "Hagrid is My Name" by Lily & James. I like how they portray Hagrid. They describe him like giant man with huge emotions which to me is just hilarious. I've never really thought how emotional Hagrid really is. And also, I think it's awesome how they listed all those magical creatures in such a short period of time. And yeah, Hagrid loves them all. So that was a great song by Lily & James. I'm looking forward to more songs from them.
All right, so now I'm gonna play a fun summer song by The Swedish Shortsnouts. It's from their brand new EP "Dragon Fire" and the song is called "House-Elf Rock".
Yeah, that was "House-Elf Rock" by The Swedish Shortsnouts. And this song is free for download, as is their whole new EP "Dragon Fire". So check the link in the show notes.
So that was the second episode of WrockWay Podcast. And I want to thank all these bands for letting me use their songs. Thank you very much, this isn't possible without you. And as always, send your comments and ideas, and answer the listener question which I askes in the first episode, it was about your favourite lines in wrock songs, and what lines do you consider legendary, you know, those most well-known lines that have become widely used and quoted.
And also check WrockWay site for news and blogs, I currently have "Wrock video of the week" and "Wrocker of the week" and weekly news post is there, so check them out. And please vote for WrockWay Podcast on PodcastAlley, it helps spread the word.
So all of you who are going to Infinitus next week, have fun. And all of you who can't go to Infinitus, don't be sad, maybe you get to go to another con of event. And I'm trying to keep you entertained here on the web, so you don't get bored even if you can't go any real life events.
Ok, see you all next time, Jade is out, bye.
