Many of you who aren't at Infinitus might be eagerly waiting to see A Very Potter Sequel or The Final Battle online.
Maybe these following fan films will ease your wait, in case you haven't seen them before.
The Potter Prophecy is a HP fan film, released in 2008, and directed by Erin Pyne (known also from her wrock band House of Black). It isn't a musical but it includes some wrock so I thought it fits this blog.
The story of The Potter Prophecy begins from the day when Dumbledore hears the first Prophecy of Trelawney, and ends in the moment when Hagrid and Sirius leave from the ruins of Potters' house at Godric's Hollow. The story continues in another short film, Sirius Black and the Secret Keeper, in which Sirius confronts Peter.
Watch The Potter Prophecy here, and Sirius Black and the Secret Keeper here.
Here's what I love about these films (do not read further yet if you don't want to be a bit spoiled!!!)

What I love about these films:
- The overall quality of the films
- Use of details in creating the atmosphere and emotion, and building the characters (interior of the pub, items at Potters' house, how Peter searches for food in the trash like a rat would, etc)
- All the actors are most of the time believable (which is rare in fan films)
- Scenes and dialogues that are not in the books (lots of them)
- The way Sirius is portrayed (which in my opinion is not only spot-on but also it's no less than what's in the WB movies)
- All of the abovementioned things result in that these movies not only recreate the events in the books but also bring something new to them
- An extra point for how Snape looks (isn't he almost exactly like the young Snape in the OotP movie?)
- Another extra point for showing why exactly Voldemort chose Halloween to be the day to kill the Potters: it's the only day of the year when his appearance would draw no attention from the muggles.
Other fan films:
James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing which is based on the novel by G. Norman Lippert. You can watch the film here and read the novel here. They're also making a film of the second HP novel of Lippert's, James Potter and the Curse of the Gatekeeper, which you can read here. Teaser trailer for the upcoming film is here.
The new parody film Harvey Putter and the Ridiculous Premise.
Harry Potter and a Talented Ficwriter. It's a short comedy about slash fan fiction pairings.
What do you think about these films? Do you know any other HP fan films or musicals? What kind of HP fan film or musical would you like to see? Share your thoughts!
