Obliviate! is a wrock band of Tamara, a college student and a geek, who likes Doctor Who and meeting her fandom friends.
How did you get into wizard rock?
I heard about it in about 2005, when my friend was listening to The Moaning Myrtles. It took a few years for me to work up the nerve to play it myself. I started in the summer of 2007, right after the last book came out. I was so excited to be involved. Wizard rock is awesome because it unites the community in a way that makes us all such close friends!
Tell the story behind your band's name.
I was sitting on MySpace looking at the “band’s name” portion of the sign up form. I went through a list of spells, and decided that I liked Obliviate!
What characters, topics and themes do you write songs about ? Do you have a certain point of view?
I like to write from character’s points of view. Love songs are awesome, but I’m trying to widen my scope to general wizarding world songs that might be heard on the Wizarding Wireless Network.

What kind of musical style do you have?
I’m an acoustic/folk/indie person most of the time. I tend to write serious songs, sad songs, and also lovey songs. I suppose it’s because this is my “muggle” writing style as well.
Who are your favourite wizard rockers?
Georgia and Victoria from Riddle TM - They are my close friends and so talented. Rif from The Department of Rock - He’s really a fanboy more than an artist, but he’s helped me write a few songs. Ministry of Magic - They have such catchy music.
What are your top 5 wrock songs?
What's your favourite wrock video?
I’ve always liked the Apologize parody by Ministry of Magic.
Have you collaborated with other wizard rockers?
I’ve written a few songs with Rif of The Department of Rock. He helped write Portkey to You and a few others that are in the recording queue.
What is the funniest experience you've had with wrock?
My friends and I made this video for English class one year and we used Accio Love by Ministry of Magic in the background somewhere and someone in the class recognized it. We had a definite fangirl moment giggling in the back of the class. XD
What has been the most emotional moment?
When I was in a room of HP fans one day, someone started singing End of an Era and we all started crying and hugging each other. I’ve never felt prouder or more sad.
What is the best moment you've had with wrock?
The best fan moment was when I saw Matt Maggiacomo on the streets one day. I squealed. Haha.
As wizard rocker, the best moment was when someone once told me that a song reminded her of a very difficult time in her life and that I perfectly captured the emotions. That is the best compliment I’ve gotten.
Do you wish you had more time/money to spend with wizard rock?
Yes. I wish I had better quality recording supplies and more freedom to play shows and go places.
What future plans do you have with music?
I plan on playing a few shows possibly out in Pittsburgh. I have a few new songs which will be coming out before I leave so I have something to promote. I may even sell it for a low low price. But I like giving stuff away for free... So we’ll see.
Is there anything you want to say to your fans or fellow wrockers?
THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR AWESOMENESS
